Chapter 13
RESCUE WORK
All
of the material we shall learn about in this chapter with one exception is
connected with persons who have already left their physical bodies and this
plane. Since this is an extremely
challenging work, to the point that one truly should be called to it as though
it were a vocation, before we proceed, we must use the prayers of protection
which we have learned.
“Rescue
Work” or “Inner Plane Work” is a specialized field of endeavor. We shouldn’t ever seek this but rather
answer a call for help and then we should question the Highest Mind. “Am I chosen for this field?”
If
we’re sure the answer is “Yes,” then in an orderly way those who need our
particular gift will be brought to our attention. To make sure we aren’t just volunteering because we are so
anxious to serve, at least for the first four or five times we should issue
what in the spiritual world is known as “ The
Challenge.” This is another
powerful protection. It is especially important
to those who are sensitive enough to be aware of beings on the inner planes of
consciousness, particularly those on the astral plane. The substance of this area can be
manipulated and it’s necessary to challenge the evidence shown to our extended
senses. There is a saying, “Believe not
every spirit, but try the spirit, whether they be of our Creator.”
Since
we have learned that everything on earth is greater in the beyond, we are to
accept that those things which come through the ethers to us must be checked
out just as items we hear or read over the radio, TV, Internet or
newspaper. The advice of all themedia
is to verify the credentials of the person with whom we deal.
The
Challenge is this verification of the credentials of the one from the inner who
presents to us a possibility for us to use our extended senses. We are to prayerfully protect our world and
ourselves from negative beings that may enter our force field without an
invitation. We say, “In the Name of our
Creator, Universal Mind, I challenge you!
Have you come in that Name? If
not, then leave immediately!”
Those
who are not of the Light can’t bear the sound of the name of the High Holy .One
and will leave our presence at once when we give this challenge. Any false vision or unpleasant sensation or
coldness that we may feel will be dissipated.
A symbol, perhaps of a cross of light or a special color may appear
given by those who come gladly when they are supposed to work with us on a project.
For
instance, a dear one is given a magenta colored ray that shines from her brow
chakra upon the object or situation under consideration. She challenges every bit of work that
crosses her path. If the special
colored beam appears, she knows this is her “bundle.” Perhaps you are already aware of your symbol.
We
need have no fear when we use the Challenge for it must be obeyed and if
the work isn’t for us, it will go away.
This is Divine Law.
We
protect ourselves further when we learned of The Challenge. Let’s give thanks for the protecting angels
who are with us as we ask them to rebuild the Wall of Flame around us; to
cleanse our auras especially at this time so there will be no sense of
pre-judgement, fear or doubt.
We
ask that we may be completely sealed against any outside influences. The Armor of Light is placed around us. According to our religions conviction let
the symbol of the One who represents the highest be placed in protection from
the top of our head to our toes, from the top of our head to our heels and
underneath our feet. We give thanks
that this is accomplished. We are
shining clean and secure.
Do
we wonder why this extra protection? We
really should know that we must be extra careful if we are going to help some
of those who have gone to the other side and are in a state of confusion for
they are truly mixed up and angry. We
are more visible to them than the heavenly beings that would help them. If we are able to help them, we assist
ourselves as well as they since they cannot then reach us with their unpleasant
efforts anymore than they can reach others.
There
is the chance they may try to bother us but this doesn’t free us from the
privilege of being a channel for their good to go to them. We are secure in the knowledge that if we
“let” (have no personal responsibility) we are only providing an avenue through
which the Heavenly Beings can help them.
The
Angel Azrael (the Angel of Life) explains away any doubts we may have about the
needs of anyone on the other side.
“When a soul passes on into the new dimension, every effort is made to
make that experience a pleasant one.
For instance, they may make their transition into another life (there is
no death) from a hospital. We of the
angelic realm look upon hospitals as you would a bus, train or airplane station
where travelers are either coming in or leaving.
“There
is never a time when helpers aren’t on duty around every hospital to help those
going out or coming in. We know only
about the time that a soul will leave, so we wait. If the waiting is long, one helper replaces another.
“We
have every facility at hand to make the soul’s passing a wonderful
experience. There are angels nearby who
are preparing places for the dear one coming.
“Nevertheless,
not all souls who come over will fit in for one or more reasons. Some may be heard to say, “Oh, it’s so
beautiful.” and mention the people they see.
Perhaps that person is truly there to greet the incoming soul. It may, however, be an angel, for these
beings have the ability to assume the appearance and attitude of someone with
whom the passing one is familiar.
Either way, a well known, easily recognizable, comfortable, pleasant
experience is offered the one who makes the transition. Mostly the outgoing soul is content and goes
with the helper.”
Entrance
to the other side seems like being born here.
We are again in a new atmosphere as is a new baby in this world. If, when we get to the other side, we take a
weakness or a negative condition with us, we receive special care if we will
accept it. There are recovery homes or
resting places provided where we may rest, sleep and become whole again.
No
soul, however, is forced to accept the beauty and help offered. There is always free will both on this side
of the veil or the other. The angelic
helpers from the lowest to the highest on up to our Creator will not infringe
upon our freedom of choice.
There
are always those who pass to the other side who may know where they are but who
don’t like it to the extent that they bring deep resentment and rebellion with
them. Their time may have been finished
on earth, but if so, they didn’t think that was so and they are angry. They refuse to the go with the angels, no
matter how familiar the scene is to them.
There are others who don’t know where they are and are completely
bewildered and those whom we mentioned in the beginning of this chapter who
want to feed their habits vicariously.
Here then are
four classes of disconcerted people on the other side. 1) is the person who has taken his or her
own life. 2} are the confused souls who
aren’t able for one reason or another to recognize their angel guides. 3) are people that feel drawn to help those
on this plane who still grieve. 4) are
troublemakers who prefer to irritate persons on our earth and refuse to go with
the Angels of Light.
Let’s
consider those who make trouble first.
There are two groups with whom they like to deal. First are those who have a physical craving,
as for drugs or alcohol or a personal quality of possessiveness or envy. These attack someone known to have the same
personalities as themselves and sap their energy and strength to feed their own
habit. Others like to irritate those of
us who are doing deep prayer work.
When we are deep in prayer,
we glow with a holy light. This light
is seen on the inner plane and the troublemakers take advantage of this. We will remember in the story of the man who
said to his wife, “I’ve got a monkey on my back!” When the trio was doing a spinal cleansing for him, the one who
saw the challenges and spoke felt as though she was choking and the words
didn’t want to come out right.
Through
studying this chapter we learn that The Challenge would then be issued. She said, “In the Name of Universal Mind,
go follow the light for I am not working for you. If you are here to cause trouble, in the Name of Universal Mind,
BE GONE!”
At that point she asked the Archangel Michael
to take the person away and return it to the place where it can work out its
own problems and so that is what we should do when we are working. This isn’t being cruel for the sooner the
troubled one faces up to the difficulties and will accept help, the sooner it
will be given. In the meantime, it
takes the spirit out of circulation, keeps the workers from being hurt, puts
the being in a place where no more trouble can be made nor karma
increased. It allows the being to have
a chance to realize he needs to change.
Next,
let us look at the ones who have taken their own lives. We don’t know what exactly happened but are
aware they are in darkness and the depth of that darkness depends on the state
of the soul. They make us aware of
their need by placing a heaviness of Spirit upon us. If we ask our Creator, “Is this trouble ours? If not, is it someone wanting help? Is it my bundle? We listen and know whether or not we are to proceed.
If
we have a feeling of one in great physical agony that medication can’t ease,
this is probably considered when that person who has committed suicide is
working out their situation on the other plane. Our bodies are a gift from our Creator and we have no real right
to destroy them. If the departed souls in their own free will deeply regret
what has happened and are willing to make atonement – to work out the situation
– we can help them get in touch with their Source and begin their reparation.
The
other way we discover about a suicide that we can help is to be contacted by
someone dear to the victim. In this
case, the victim has touched their friend or relative and let them know they want
help. In either instance, the treatment
is the same. First we go through our
regular protection process with which we are familiar by now. As we have also learned, when we work on the
inner plane it is better to have two or three gathered together. We also know it is better if at least one
has the gift of extended vision.
After
we are protected, we invite in our heavenly helpers. First, our guardian angel and the guardian angel of the others
present. We ask all the angelic ones
and the great master souls and the healers from the Holy Grail that is the
largest temple of healing in the inner plane.
Our request goes out for the color ray workers to tell us what colors
are needed or to put the right ones on the recipients. We haven’t studied about the White Indians,
the Scouts or the Scientists of the Heavens but these groups have special
powers for special occasions and are asked in to work as they choose.
To
work with one who has taken his/her own life requires a deep sense of humility
on our part. There appears to be no
other way than to recognize that we may not have done that particular wrong,
but we’ve done plenty of other things so we are not to judge others. This situation is approached with a sense of
knowing that we need forgiveness as well as the one we are taking to Universal
Mind. It is at that time that we can
effectively tell our Creator that all of us, the workers and the one for whom
we work, are in need of forgiveness, ourselves first, then the dear one.
We
wait until a sense of peace comes over us.
God has forgiven all of us. At
that time the Triune Ray is asked to pour its mighty power over the soul, doing
its cleansing, healing work. Then the
Sword of the Spirit that is the Word of God is taken in our mental hands and
all the lines that bind this soul to the earth are cut. We pour colors over it and it is set free.
A
request is give that the healers and helpers from the inner plane meet the soul
and care for it. We give the treated
one to the helpers, for without their loving help this work could not be done.
There
has been a plethora of words written in between the introduction of the subject
and the final specific instructions we are giving but it seems necessary. This is so that we may fully understand this
is serious and that while the actual work is very short, it contains must
knowledge and emotion. The formula
contains all the emotions we have expressed above but it is very simply put.
This
is what we need to learn: We are to protect.
Invite the heavenly helpers including everyone’s guardian angel.
Speak
the name aloud three times. Say,
“Caroline Smith . . . Caroline Smith . . . Caroline Smith.” Tell her, “In the Name of Universal Mind, we
know you!” This implies all that we
have said. We know them, their frailness, hopes, desires. It implies that we share with them, for if
we know them, they know us.
Next
we say, “We loveyou.”
Follow
this with “We understand you.”
Finally,
“We bless you.” This includes the
treatment by the angels, color ray workers, Triune Ray and all the other.
Then,
with a sharp snap of the fingers or a quick clap of the hands we say, “We send you on your way!”
We
are given the understanding that we needed to know the depth of our devotion to
this type of work before we could use this shortened form for without
understanding and dedication, the job is pointless.
We
use these same words when we deal with earthbound souls who are unfamiliar with
their surroundings. We understand that
we will not undertake this unless the troubled one contacts us or someone close
to them asks us. In either case the
time is right or we wouldn’t be in touch with them. The right time is when their free will recognizes they want help.
A
tremendous demonstration of this occurred in a deep meditation group many years
ago. This is the experience: toward the
end of World War II, a couple were driving across the “back river” of the Ohio
which flows through that state and West Virginia, its main course being interrupted
by an inhabited island with bridges connecting both sides of the island. As they drove, the car ahead of them slowed
down, the back door opened and a young man in uniform hurried out, leaped over
the railing and went over the side, hand over hand down the bars of the
balustrade. The vastness of the project
must have overcome him at that moment for he clung to the floorboard with his
hands, four fingers on each hand visible.
Those in the lead car and the other car could do nothing. The space between the railing and
nothingness could not have been more than 8 inches. No one could have stood in that location let alone have enough
space to help.
The
fingers disappeared.
All
of us were in agony as was the victim who turned out to be an AWOL Marine.
In
time the couple were able to forget. They knew nothing of the technique given above.
Between
twenty and twenty-five years later in the midst of the deepest meditation group
either of them had ever been in, the man who had taken his life so long ago
came to the wife for help. It was so
real she cried aloud in agony, not knowing what to do. An advanced soul in attendance taught her at
that moment what we have shared here – not in detail but enough to get them all
through the situation. The many things
shared here came to the wife through much study and meditation.
It
was mentioned in the start of this chapter that one piece of help is given with
persons still on earth. This is a very
delicate process and must be done with
perfect impartiality. We must not have
an opinion in the situation.
This
work may be done for a person near
death who appears to be afraid to go to the other side for one reason or
another. In consideration of the
patient, the words should be given when the ill one is asleep or in a coma. In that state the true consciousness of the
individual can hear. Speaking to their
conscious mind is dangerous for they can become confused.
When
their active mind is stilled, they may be given an option. The formula is this: 1. Invite in their angelic helpers ahead of
time. 2. Call aloud the person’s name three times with a small pause
between each call. 3. Talk to the individual as the loving friend
or relative that we are. Explain that
there are heavenly beings present with them to whom they may speak and to whom
they are free to express their fears.
The helpers will converse with the beings. If we sense they still feel there is something to be done on this
plane, even in a coma state, they will make up their own minds and decide to
stay and work it out. If their fears are
relieved and they are at peace, they may quickly pass to their next existence.
We are to remember the decision is
theirs. We must not impress our own
attitude on them. We are only to open
the way by which they can talk things over with heavenly beings and make their
own choice.
The
especial quality, which we are to bring to this occasion, is an empathy with
the one being given the choice. We need
a realization that we cannot judge them.
We do not know whether or not they want to go or not. We make no effort to force an opinion upon
them. It is their privilege to go or
stay; all we do is give them a choice.
We do that by following the formula give previously.
One
situation that a couple dealt with concerned an elderly woman with a severe
cancer condition. Doctors had felt she
should have been dead two years before that time but there was but there was a
restless air about her and she was still on earth. Her one daughter loved her deeply and had her at her home
whenever she would stay but she would get lonesome for her own town and go back
although she either had to have help at home or go to a nursing home. Her daughter was a friend of the workers’
son. He asked his parents for help.
The
couple worked for her in the afternoon, Pacific Standard Time. This was early evening in her time
zone. The mother must have gained
immediate release as she telephoned all of her nearby friends, said goodbye to
them, lay down on her bed and made her transition! The couple’s son phoned them the next morning, surprised but
delighted.
Obviously
she’d been held back because of some kind of fear. The angelic voices must have relieved that strain. At the same time the Light toward which we
are all heading must have been clear enough for the sick woman to be willing to
follow.
We
are granted the privilege of giving thanks when some one is released as this
woman was but we must also rejoice if another chooses to stay.
This
same couple knew two sisters whose brother had sugar diabetes and faced an
amputation. It was their emotions that
needed help as much as the brother. The
sisters needed to be convinced that the man belonged to himself and was working
out his own life in his individual way.
They were traditional church people who wanted him to be converted before
he went. When they were convinced his
life was his own and that he need not follow their path, the angelic helpers
could be sent to him to assure him he was privileged to go or stay.
There is a
statement “The soul knows when the soul goes.”
He chose an almost immediate passing where before, through the way
desired by the sisters or if there were no intervention for him he would have
lingered and wasted away. His sisters
were able to rejoice since they understood he was on his own pathway, not theirs.
On the other
hand, a woman lingered in nursing home for eleven years before she decided to
make her exit. The decision is not ours
to make but we are allowed to give them options. Before we undertake to work in this field, we truly must feel
called to it.
As we understand
now, it is necessary that we approach fully protected for we are dealing with
the unknown. There should be a pureness
of heart, a lack of judgment, not even an emotional attachment. It is as though we are intermediaries
through whom the work is channeled. If
personal feelings are involved at all, we are to refuse to have anything to do
with the case. Those who are in need
must find another source for themselves and for our safety.
Spiritual work is
rewarding in the sense that we are frequently aware of the good that has been
done. It is challenging in that it
sensitizes the workers so that protection is especially necessary. When called to the work, however, it is
difficult to say, “No,” for there may come a time when we who may have declined
may need help for ourselves.
It is a
fascinating world, this being able to help others and still need to be asked
before we do anything. Most of us have already experienced this and can
only agree or disagree with the philosophy.
Shall we question
ourselves as to where we are in our current thinking? Are we able to accept the reality of angels more than
before? Have we seen a vision, dared a
dream, heard a whisper, felt the touch of lightness or known there are heavenly
beings here or trust that this is true?
Have we relaxed
any pressures within ourselves that don’t properly belong to us? Are we aware that another can’t put any
problem or “hex” upon us unless we consciously or subconsciously permit them to
do so? Do we realize that our intermediary
or special Avatar can cleanse us for this work?
Do we truly know
that our Creator is in charge?
