CHAPTER 18

AFFIRMATION AND RELINQUISHMENT

Prayer of Release and Attraction

Dear Creator: To you who made me good and to whom I would return myself in perfection:

I release from me all persons

all things

all habits

all ambitions

all experiences

which are not a part  of

my perfect, divine pattern of life.

All persons

all things

all ambitions

all experiences

which are not a part of

my perfect, divine pattern of life

release me.

I attract to me

all persons

all things

all places

all desires

all ambitions

all experiences

which are a part of

my divine pattern of life.

All persons

all things

all places

all habits

all desires

all ambitions

all experiences

which are a part of

my perfect, divine pattern of life

attract me.

In the prayer poem of the previous page is the summary of all we have

spoken of, experienced, worked for and accomplished.

It is the epitome of affirmation and the high peak of relinquishment.

An affirmation in the finest metaphysical sense is a positive balanced statement of belief that is voiced with such faith that it creates its own answer.

Relinquishment in the finest metaphysical sense is the utter turning over of that answer for fulfillment in the highest degree according to the Will of our Creator, whether or not the result is what we expect or want and we declare the result to be GOOD!

We are to know it is our privilege at this moment to take every word of this book which is an affirmation of our beliefs and relinquish them to their best expression through Universal Mind, our Maker.

We turn all of them over utterly for fulfillment in the highest sense according to the Will of our Creator.  This is so whether or not the results are what we expect or want.  We declare the results to be GOOD in the Name of our Creator and our Avatar no matter what Name we elect to honor.

In so doing we have faith that the pendulum swings neither too far to the left or to the right and this balance permits the extraordinary to become ordinary.

When we have become so imbued with the Holy Spirit that it becomes us and we become it, the whole process contained in the prayer poem can become part of us with just a few words.

We are blessed in our maturity as we realize that to use the prayers of protection and then proclaim Divine Order, Divine Justice and/or Divine Harmony entails the complete process of affirmation and relinquishment.  When we submit a situation to the Divine, in two or three words we completely remove our own desires and submit our will to the Divine Will of the High Holy One.

It is up to each one of us to decide if and when we have reached the point of selflessness that gives way quickly to our Creator.  At that point joy and release, not concern, will be the reaction every time.
